Founded in 2017 at the University of Montreal, the CELCP is an interdisciplinary research center dedicated to the development of the emerging field of planetary literary and cultural studies. The CELCP works across multiple literary and visual, linguistic and scientific, socio-political and theoretical, material and cultural discourses to examine and imagine various notions of the planet, planetary imaginaries and planetary philosophies, cosmologies, spaces, ethics and aesthetics. It collaborates with scholars, students, teachers, community workers, artists, and writers and works across various social sectors and communities.
